Frequently Asked Questions

Who's the company behind Heelease

Medical Technology Ltd, one of the UK's largest healthcare device manufacturers. MTL's head office is in Guernsey with fulfillment operations in Southampton and the Netherlands.

Is Heelease proven to cure plantar fasciitis?

Heelease has been proven in clinical trials to relieve the pain of tendon damage and has been reported in patient studies to accelerate the healing of the tissues which cause the condition. In the most recent study 98% of the patients surveyed experienced relief of pain from the condition, 85% reported increased healing of their plantar fasciia.

Is Heelease guaranteed to remove all pain in my foot?

No. The level of pain relief varies between patients and can range from complete removal of all pain for some to a reduction in pain in others. As with all medical treatments its effectiveness is dependent on the patient and can vary. Foot flexion, a common measure of the severity of plantar fasciitis, almost always increases with regular treatments.

What do I do if it doesn't work for me?

Simple, every order comes with a pre-addressed label for returns so you can easily post it to us for a refund. We operate a 14 day money back guarantee for UK orders.

How does Heelease work?

By applying precisely controlled frequency vibrations to the plantar fascia. This impedes the pain signals to the brain, relieving the pain, and stimulates inflammation in the local area to speed up healing. It is now known that the reduced blood flow to the tendon is why some people are susceptible to plantar fasciitis and others are not. Heelease provokes inflammation in the tendon in the same way an operation does.

Can I use the device if I have a pacemaker/am diabetic/on medication

Heelease has no 'contra-indications' as a medical device so is safe to use when pregnant, for pacemaker wearers and when on other medication. It should not be used if you have an open wound or you are under 16 years of age.

Can Heelease be used to treat other tendon/tissue disorders?

Yes, there are other variations of Heelease for conditions such as tennis elbow and patella tendonitis. Please contact us for more information if you're interested in these.

Can I use Heelease anywhere?

Heelease is light, portable and safe to use at any time it is convenient to immobilise the foot. Many users use the device in bed in the morning before getting up as this is the period of maximum discomfort from the condition.

Can I use Heelease with other treatments?

Yes. You can safely combine Heelease with any other treatment. Heelease is safe and side effect free and does not inhibit the effectiveness of any other treatment. A 1984 study in the Journal of Pain showed that combining other modalities (methods of therapy) with this type of device meant greater overall pain relief.

How long do the batteries last?

With normal use of three courses of treatment every day, the supplied battery should work for around 4 to 5 days. When the battery is at the end of its life the device will still work for a period of time but may not be as effective. We offer a charger pack option for UK orders which allows you to use rechargeable batteries if required. This is offered after the initial order page.
